Revived

Hey guys! I am soooooooooooo back.

I didn't know that at work we have an internet connection. yep, i already have work. isn't it great? i may not be in a hospital working but it's still in line of my profession. I'm a company nurse! There are good things (and sometimes bad, too) in my line of work as a corporate nurse. These are the ones I observed:

Pro's:
1. You are catering employees, not patients. BP monitoring and glucose is the only thing you do :)
2. It's nice to educate employees about health which they really are ignorant about it.
3. Being a boss to all when it comes to health prevention and cure.
4. People adore you inside the company because you know a lot of things. hahah.
5. Even if you don't know the answers to their questions, tell them you'll research about it which means you're still honing your nursing skills even outside the clinical area.

Con's:
1. Employees tend to have more knowledge than you when it comes to medical stuff and they're wrong!
2. They keep on telling you why their BP is too high or too when you can't do anything about it.
3. They keep on insisting to take their BP and other medical stuffs immediately after any activities i.e. eating, just arrived in the office, which can give false measurements and then...see number 2.

Overall, The pro's still overpowered the con's. I like my job. Even though some people told me that being a company nurse is a waste of time because nurses should work in hospitals and other medical facilities. Maybe they missed one aspect - illnesses can be prevented by proper health education and that's what I am doing right now.

Loving my job,

Nurse Paul
