The Best Caught Fish

There was once a fisherman who lived in a village. He was poor, very poor that no one in the village like him so they drove him away. Now, he is living alone under a crudely built hut beside the river. One day, he was getting hungry. He went to the river bank to catch some fish. No sweat, he laughed. After all, he is a fisherman.

But after so many hours of waiting, the fisherman still didn't catch any fish, not even small ones so he decided to take a nap. when he begins to, the water made noise and the bait splashed and spatter making a large ripple in the silent river. He finally caught his dinner. He hoisted it up and to his surprise, he caught the most peculiar fish he'd ever seen in his entire life of fishing, somewhat a magical one. His best caught fish.

Diminutive, white, and seemed absent of scales, he removed the bait from its throat and brought it home. This would make a scrumptious meal, he thought. He chopped some carrots and minced ample amounts of garlic while looking at the fish in the basin still moving and gasping for water. Please sir, the fish spoke. I need not to be eaten for I can help you catch more fish. The fisherman almost dropped the boiling pot of water for he was stunned by its ability to speak humanly. the fish began to speak wonders on various lands it already traveled. It spoke to high and mighty people helping them winning wars, invading countries and ruling a whole dynasty.

The fisherman who just as half-witted was puzzled. Fish, he said, I don't want you to help me win wars, invade countries or even rule a dynasty, I just want to eat you for dinner because I'm hungry. I don't want to strive for distinction and eminence, I am contented in what I am now. So I will just return you back to the river and maybe you will help some people who are in need of your presence.

He threw it back to the river and soon the odd fish was nowhere to be seen. He then went back to his boat, grab his pole, patiently waiting and hoping not to catch another best caught fish again.
