I don't have a Nursing job yet here in Doha, Qatar and I am very disappointed and frustrated that they won't accept me in their hospitals and clinics I just don't know why. i already have two years of experience back in the Philippines but they still need at least 3 years! I know that they're understaffed and all but if they won't accept employees then it would be understaffed forever. hahaha.
Here are my reasons why i love being a nurse:
1.I can talk with lots of people - I am kind of a blabber mouth and i need someone to talk to aside from my friends. i would like to be a nurse here because i want to know the people's diverse cultures here in Qatar
2.Caring - of course, i can care without being a nurse but can only provide to people I know or my immediate family members but being a nurse, I tend to a lot of people I don't even know! that's the best thing about being a nurse. Even if I don't know my patients in the hospital or any other medical institutions, I care about them not for the reason that I am obliged to do so as a nurse but I don't have to. as a nurse, you might not know that you are caring but just a simple taking of your patient's blood pressure, temperature, etc., you already established trust and care to your client.
3. Increase my knowledge on the Medical and Nursing field - with lots and lots of diseases invading the world today, there would be no stopping for us nurses to learn their epidemiology or where they came from. you are not a nurse if you stopped reading. that's precisely true. What if one day your neighbor asks you about the prevalence of a new found disease on their place, if you study and read articles about disease outbreaks then that would be too easy for you and you will be confident to tell that to the person who questioned you. You're not just improving your knowledge on certain types of diseases but you're also teaching the person on how to cure and prevent those kinds of illnesses.
I don't know if i can get a nursing job here in Qatar. I don't care if I'll start from scratch as long as I don't have to be stagnant on my profession. If i can't find one here, i might as well go back to the Philippines. :(
Sigh. Goodnight.
Praying for a miracle,
Paul
