Holy Week

I totally forgot, Holy Week is coming or is it already this week. I don't know. I'm sorry the Middle East doesn't have that kind of Celebration, you already know why.

I love the Holy Week - the silence, the discerning of people who Christ really is and how He perished and died for us to redeem us from salvation. It's also the time where family members don't have work and end up being at home together with the other household members. Eating rice cakes, fish and watching Christian films is always as its best when it comes to this time of the year.

Unfortunately, some people don't understand what Holy Week really is. For some people, it's a time for vacation. I just don't know why. They go to beaches and resorts just to relax and to chill amidst their tiring work life. Drinking and partying is on their list, too. They forgot Him. The one who gives them money for their fare and accommodation and food and the booze they drink but the people totally forgot God or Christ.

I'm not trying to have a sermon here but that's just the way I see. Why don't they just stay on their homes with their families, discerning and contemplating the fruits of their labor and thanking the Omnipotent One for the blessings. I'm not anti - party or vacation but when you're there, try to at least remember that during the Holy week (even though this is not the actual week Christ died) some things should be remembered and enjoyed aside from partying.
